How can I increase my email list?

A recent survey conducted with 1000 online businesses revealed that email marketing generates the highest ROI compared to other marketing channels.  Granted it depends on what demographic you are targeting. Perhaps, for example,  teenagers don’t engage with email as much as a 43 year old.  But it’s worthwhile realising that email marketing is far from dead.

Why bother…

Quite simply – Your revenue can be in your email list.   You can generate free traffic through your blog but Google takes almost 24-72 hours to index fresh content pages. On the other hand, when you send an email to your subscribers you are most likely to see a rise in your website traffic within a few minutes. Email marketing platforms such as MailChimp (others are available!) have made lead generation and management easier through powerful campaign creation and reporting features that can be integrated with Google Analytics, which will allow you to evaluate the effectiveness of your email campaigns.

Ideas to increase your list

There are numerous ways to increase your email list, here are a few ideas that you can adapt for your business…

It’s worth repeating that for the above to work you need to be delivering something of value to your subscribers inbox.   Get inside your customer’s head – what do they want and need.  How can you interrupt their inbox in a welcoming way that starts to build a rapport with them.
